Motion by Board Member Lewis, and seconded by Board Member Bernard, to move to approve <br />and support the recommendation by Staff to move forward with the rain garden and all three <br />aspects. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Acting Chairperson Valentine, Board Member Lewis, Bernard, <br />Bentz, Covart, and Hiatt. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Stodola. <br />5.03: Update on Shoreline Inventory to Assess Erosion Issues <br />City Planner Anderson presented the staff report. He noted a full report along with a catalog of <br />photographs and descriptions will be part of the deliverables. <br />Board Member Bentz questioned whether cost sharing was discussed with the landowners at all <br />and the costs per linear foot. <br />City Planner Anderson commented that specific topic did not come up, however, there are on- <br />going discussions with Anoka County Parks about a cost -share endeavor. <br />Board Member Bentz asked if there is any projection of when the stabilization part will be <br />completed. <br />City Planner Anderson replied it depends on the results of the inventory, the recommended actions, <br />and getting commitments from impacted property owners. This ultimately will help with water <br />quality and aquatic habitat, so there is still that overall benefit the general public. <br />5.04: Receive Update on Potential Rain Barrel and Compost Bin Event <br />City Planner Anderson presented the staff report. <br />Board Member Lewis asked what the price point was. <br />City Planner Anderson responded he was provided a generic promotional flier that was used in the <br />past. Costs were between $55 and $65. <br />Board Member Bentz asked if this is different than the event held at the old Target in Coon Rapids. <br />City Planner Anderson replied this is a similar event. <br />After discussion, it was the consensus of the Environmental Policy Board to support this event. <br />6. BOARD / STAFF INPUT <br />• Reschedule January Meeting to January 25th due to Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. It <br />is anticipated that some land use plans will be coming forward, and will be discussed <br />at that meeting. <br />• Reschedule February meeting to a date to be determined due to Presidents' Day. <br />• Board Member Bernard noted Ramsey Elementary has an environmental program. The <br />meetings start in January. He talked to the Chair of this program, and discussed the <br />Environmental Policy Board / December 21, 2015 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />
