The Commission was encouraged to review the materials provided especially Chapter 10. <br />6. COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br />Mr. Riverblood stated there was a very slow start to the winter skating season. Flooding of the <br />rinks did not occur until the holiday week. The rinks were opened the first week of January. The <br />ice is terrific now after the cold weather. <br />The park concept planning within The COR continues. There will be information coming before <br />the Commission in February or March. Concept planning is looking at the park dedication within <br />the COR. There would be $1.5 - $2 million in park dedication and $9 - $13 million in park <br />improvements needed. <br />The Riverdale Drive extension is the segment of frontage road to Ramsey Blvd. Staff is meeting <br />with County Staff to look at various tools to compensate the County for Road Right of Way need <br />from the Regional Park. <br />Lake Itasca Community Park has been discussed by the Commission in the past few months. An <br />agreement has been reached with a $75,000 payment from the Park Trust Fund for 38 acres of <br />park land, which will total 100 acres in park land east of Lake Itasca, North of Alpine for a <br />community park. Council supported the agreement with closing anticipated at the end of January. <br />Commissioner Chubb stated he will not be seeking re -appointment to the Park and Recreation <br />Commission. <br />Chair Bennett thanked Commissioner Chubb for his years of service. <br />7. ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Commissioner Chubb, seconded by Commissioner Trappen to adjourn the meeting. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Bennett, Commissioners Chubb, Trappen and Fyten. Voting <br />No: None.
