Voting No: None. <br />Absent: Commissioner Stauffer. <br /> <br />Mr. Otto noted that the crane at Prestressed Concrete is erected higher <br />than the lighted structure on that same property; it is creating a safety <br />hazard and suggest that the'City take steps to see that it is lowered. <br /> <br />Mr. Otto requested that the Commission recommend that City Council <br />establish themselves as thelZoningBoardand take necessary action to adopt <br />the zoning ordinance. Law requires a minimum of two public hearings to be <br />conducted on airport zoning ordinances. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Sieber and seconded by Commissioner Erickson to <br />recommend that City Council: 1) adopt a resolution establishing <br />themselves as the Airport Zoning Board; 2) take necessary action to <br />conduct public hearings and adopt the proposed airport zoning ordinance <br />with the addition of a clause prohibiting non-compatible uses in Zone C and <br />setting safety zones utilitize the runway low-end elevation rather than <br />high-end elevation. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Barnes, Emery, <br />Greenberg, Donovan, $ieber, Chapman and Erickson. Voting No: None. <br />Absent: Commissioner Stauffer. <br /> <br />George Post - Inquired if the project is ruined if the affected surrounding <br />cities do not adopt similar ordinances on height restrictions. <br /> <br />Mr. Otto replied that at the point the City establishes control over the <br />airport and if affected surrounding cities refuse to recognize height <br />restrictions, Ramsey has the right to enforce the zoning ordinance in their <br />jurisdictions. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Sieber and seconded by Commissioner ~nery to adjourn <br />the regular Airport Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
