Minnesota Department of Transportation Metropolitan District Waters Edge 1500 West County Road B2 Roseville, MN 55113 December 17, 2015 Dear business owner, The Minnesota Department of Transportation will modify the concrete median at the intersection of Highway 47 and 142nd Avenue to improve safety for motorists traveling through the intersection. Due to a lack of visibility and resulting crashes at this intersection, the modified concrete median will prevent left turns from southbound Highway 47 onto eastbound 142nd Avenue. Left turns from northbound Highway 47 onto westbound 142nd Avenue will still be allowed after the project is complete. The project is scheduled to begin in May and be completed by the end of June, 2016. During the project, southbound traffic will turn left at Xkimo Street to reach businesses on the east side of Highway 47. At the same time, turns from northbound and southbound Highway 47 to westbound 142nd Avenue and from northbound Highway 47 to eastbound 142nd Avenue will temporarily close during construction. A signed business access route will direct motorists to use local streets to access businesses during the closure. After the project, southbound Highway 47 traffic will continue to turn left at Xkimo Street to reach businesses on the east side of Highway 47.
