CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 04/12/2016 <br />By: Jo Thieling, Administrative Services <br />4. 9. <br />Information <br />Title <br />Adopt Resolution #16-04-067 Establishing Polling Location for Ward 4 Precinct 1 at Ramsey Fire Station No. 2, <br />5650 Alpine Drive NW <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: The purpose of this item is to establish the polling location for Ward 4 Precinct 1 in the new Fire Station <br />No. 2. <br />Background: The polling location for Ward 4 Precinct 1 has been Fire Station No. 2, also known as Old Municipal <br />Center, located at 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW. A new building housing Fire Station No. 2 has been constructed <br />and the old Fire Station No. 2 will be demolished. Therefore, a new voting location is necessary for Ward 4 <br />Precinct 1 and must be established by resolution, according to Minnesota Statutes Section 204B.16. Attached is a <br />resolution establishing the new voting location for Ward 4 Precinct 1. <br />Notification: <br />According to State Statutes, when polling locations are changed, the County Auditor or Municipal Clerk shall notify <br />each affected registered voter of the change at least one week prior to the State Primary held after the change takes <br />place. Following adoption of this resolution, the City Clerk shall notify the Anoka County Auditor, and they will be <br />sending out notification postcards to all registered voters in Ward 4 Precinct 1. The cost of the notification will be <br />bore by the City. <br />Funding Source: <br />Election costs are budgeted for in the Elections Section of the General Fund. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends Council adopt the resolution establishing the polling location for Ward 4 Precinct 1 at the new <br />Fire Station No. 2 at 5650 Alpine Drive NW. <br />Action: <br />Motion to adopt Resolution # 16-04-067 Establishing Polling Location for Ward 4 Precinct 1 at Ramsey Fire Station <br />No. 2, 5650 Alpine Drive NW. <br />- and - <br />Motion to direct staff to notify the Anoka County Auditor of the polling location change so the affected registered <br />voters may be properly notified. <br />Res Establishing Polling W4P1 <br />Attachments <br />Form Review <br />Inbox <br />Reviewed By Date <br />
