diseased tree problemI in the City and how this ordinance will affect this <br />program. <br /> <br />Kathy Schneider said ~he feels that the "Plan" statement for Wood/ands <br />is too general for th~ ~nole City and should be clarified somehow. <br /> <br />Mr. Dunn said that "thinning trees" should be deleted and should read <br />"areas undeveloped" ~ <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson said that the following items were of importance: <br /> <br /> Protect trees in ~eveloped areas, define indiscriminate cutting <br />2. Show where cluste~ of trees is - vegetation etc., removal of <br /> diseased trees. : <br />3. Need for program for removal of diseased trees and a reforestation <br /> program. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson sai.~ he is concerned about cutting of trees in <br />developed areas and sbmo'.restrictions should be set. The diseased <br />tree control program Should be initiated and a reforestation project. <br /> <br />Mr. Marston said thati Planning & Zoning , Park and Recreation and <br />the Tree Inspector could use the plan as a form to discuss these <br />items. <br /> <br />The Plan on Page 8, i:s to be rewritten by Mr. Marston. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning ~.ecommendation is that the tree disease control <br />program be pursued. <br /> <br />HOUSING ISSUE <br /> <br />Mr. Marston presented the material on "Housing Goals" <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson added to No. 4, a) "encourage energy conservation <br />rehabilitation repaif;s and make more energy efficient housSng." <br /> <br />Regarding No. I. Th~se. figures are to be checked for accuracy <br />and if not correct, SUbstantiate something else. <br /> <br />~kdministrator Schnel~e commented on the need for more industry for tax <br />base. ; <br /> <br />Art Dunn commented that. residential housing is a strain on the school taXes <br />and that the City car~not encourage industrial development until sewer and <br />water is available. <br /> <br />Marston said the Commission is to review the Ho~sing 'Program Section for <br />the next month's mee~ing and consider how provision Can be made for <br />modest cost housing ~eeds. <br /> Add under "Local Programs" 9.
