Chairman Peterson presented correspondence which he received from the <br />Metropolitan Council regarding a new regional policy plan on "Solid and <br />Hazardous Waste Management" and "Stormwater Management Plan -Elements <br />Summary". Chairman Peterson asked that this material be placed on file <br />at the City office and kept in the manner of a reference library so that <br />interested persons could check out the material to read and review at <br />their convenience. <br /> <br />NOTE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br />Note Boards and Commissions minutes were acknowledg~ and accepted by the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />HEDSTROM ELECTRIC PROPOSED ADDITIONS AND EXPANSION - SITE PLAN REVIEW <br /> <br />Mr. Hedstrom was present at the meeting to go ~over his building design <br />and site plan with the P & Z Commission. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson stated that the main purpose of this review is to discuss <br />the screening and overall layout of Mr. Hedstrom's proposal to add to his <br />present business at 6260 Highway 10. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson recommended.that Mm. Hedstrom's new additions harmonize <br />with his existing buildings as far as the exterior appearance. He asked <br />Mr. Hedstrom what he would like to see for a fence between his business <br />property and the residential area. <br /> <br />Mr. Hedstrom replied that he would prefer to install a metal fence because <br />it would result in less maintenance. <br /> <br />Ben Deemer pointed out that Mr. Newcomb, who is the neighbor adjacent to <br />Mr. Hedstrom's property, has indicated that he would mow up to the fence <br />on his side of the fence. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson asked Mr. Hedstrom basically what type of activities <br />would be conducted in the buildings. <br /> <br />Mr. Hedstrom answered that Building 'No. 3 would be truck storage, Building <br />No. 2 would be additional storage and Building No. i would contain additional <br />storage and office space. <br /> <br />Ben Deemer asked if Mr. Hedstrom would consider constructing a metal fence <br />with wood slats for better sound abatement. <br /> <br />Mr. Hedstrom replied that he Would install whatever P & Z recommends. <br /> <br />Ron West stated that no matter what kind of fence is installed, it would not <br />stop that much sound and maintenance-wise a metal fence would require a lot <br />less maintenance over the years. <br /> <br />Ben Deemer asked Mr. Hedstrom if he is aware of the development contract that <br />is required which will spell out exactly what he has to do. <br /> <br />Mr. Hedstrom indicated that he is aware of it. <br /> <br />Mr. West suggested the installation of a fence compatible with what Grosslein <br />Beverages has. <br /> --2-- <br /> RegularlP ~ Z meeting/Y/2/79 <br /> <br /> <br />
