Mr. Hedstrom stated that Grosslein has a green aluminum fence. <br /> <br />Administrator Schnelle said ~hat the City has received numerous complai~ <br />about that fencing that it looks like a prison, however, Grosslein's fence <br />is on the residential side yard and Mr. Hedstrom's is on the rear property <br />line and he has the trees for screening also. <br /> <br />Ron West stated that he feels a fence similar to Grosslein"s would be compatible <br />for the area and would require less maintenance than wood. <br /> <br />Ben Deemer said he did not think a six foot fence is necessary. <br /> <br />~erald Zimmerman said that the City Council recommends a six foot fenee. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson suggested that the fence be metal construction with <br />either plastic or wood slatting. <br /> <br />Ben Deemer suggested that the color of the slatting material be a natural <br />color. <br /> <br />P & Z recommendation regarding the fence is: Mr. Hedstrom install a six <br />foot metal fence with laminated plastic or wood slats of green or brown color. <br /> <br />Administrator Schnelle statedlthat some concern should be given to having <br />a green area along Highway 10,and that the parking area by Building No. 2 as <br />shown on Exhibit No. i should'be left open for' the septic system. <br /> <br />Gerald Zimmerman asked if Mr. Hedstrom did any retail business. <br /> <br />Mr. Hedstrom answered that his retail business is at night and on Saturdays <br />and that he has 3 to 4 cars a~ the most at one time due to that business. <br /> <br />Mr. Deemer asked if he is going to store his equipment, trailers, etc., on <br />his property. <br /> <br />Mr. Hedstrom replied yes. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson asked what kind of vehicles etc., will be visible to those <br />driving by his business at night. <br /> <br />Mr. Hedstrom said there will be about 15 trucks outside, a semi, and one low <br />bed with a cat. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson asked if most of his equipment woUld be going inside. <br /> <br />Mr. Hedstrom replied yes. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson raised a question concerning the setback on Building No. 3 <br />and that the eight parking spaces by Building No. i and No. I should be <br />a green landscaped area. <br /> <br />P & Z Commission recommends that the et~e'n parking spaces by Building No. i and No. 2 <br />be reduced to five and that the remaining area te a green area landscaped by <br />grass as shown on Exhibit No. ~. <br /> <br />Administrator Schnelleasked if' this area adjacent to Highway 10 is presently <br />being utilized for parking. ~ <br /> <br /> Regular ? g Z Meeting-?/2,'?9 <br /> <br /> <br />
