Page 2 <br />Regular Planning & Zoning Meeting <br />J~ne 4; 1979 <br /> <br />LETTERS & COMML~qICATIONS <br /> <br />Letter from Mr. Ben Deemer li~ting his comrents on the issues for tonight's <br />meeting as he is away on vacation and unable to attend. <br /> <br />PLANNING COF~ISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Item No. 1 URBAN DEVELOPMENT PERMIT FOR NURSOY; REQUEST FOR APPROVAL; CASE <br /> <br />Chairman Ken Peterson stated ,that the Conmission has held a public hearing <br />regarding this request earlier this evening. He asked Mr. Crawley if <br />he is familiar with the Urban. Development Permit. <br /> <br />Mr. Crawley stated that he did not know about it when he first started his <br />venture, but he is aware if it now. <br /> <br />Engineer Peter Raatikka revi~ed his letter regarding the Urban Development <br />Permit for Lee's Nursery with the Conmission. <br /> <br />Mr. Crawley indicated that the area to the south on his plan, where there is <br />nothing indicated, he could USe for an overflow parking area. <br /> <br />Art Dunn asked if the 33 foot roadway easement is existing. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka said no, that it would have to be dedicated. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikka said that the parcel behind the nursery would be landlocked. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson asked how far off the proposed building is from meeting the <br />required minimum floor space. <br /> <br />Engineer Raatikkareplied-500 feet. <br /> <br />Mr. Crawley said he plans to add agreenhouse to the office buildingand this would <br />bring his floor space up to requir~-~nts. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson said the greenhouse should be shown on his plan as part of the <br />space requiremmnt. An~ he should landscape along County Road 5. <br /> <br />Mr. Crawley said it would be'in keeping with the natural setting of the site to <br />put in grass and a landscaped area. <br /> <br />Art Dunn expressed concern that the existing trees would be blocking the line <br />of vision coming out onto CoUnty Road 5. <br /> <br />Mr. Crawley said he has already planned to trim back the trees on the north <br />and south for his benefit as well for advertising etc., and will accomplish it <br />as soon as possible. <br /> <br />It was bought to Mr. Crawley's attention that for future service road purposes <br />he would have to refrain from building anything in the future right of way for that <br />service road. <br /> <br /> <br />
