City of Ramsey <br />County of Anoka <br />State of Minnesota <br /> <br />P&Z-1- <br />12/11/78 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Ramsey City Planning & Zoning <br />Commission held a Public Hearing on December ll, 1978, at the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd, N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Chairman Ken Peterson called the public hearing to order at 7:30 p.m. with the <br />following in attendance: <br /> <br />Ken Peterson <br />Ron West <br />Brad Bodle <br /> <br />Kathy Schnei der <br />A1 Sorteberg <br />Gerry Zimmerman <br /> <br />Art Dunn <br />A1 so present: <br /> <br />Clayton Berg, Bldg. Off. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson explained that this was a hearing in regards to a request from <br />Mr. Phillip Kerssen for a conditional use permit to allow him to manufacture and <br />sell trailers as well as items taken in trade at his location of 14765 Nowthen <br />Blvd. Mr. Kerssen was asked to pr~sent his request. Kerssen asked how long <br />this permit would be for, and was told that it would be valid as long as the con- <br />ditions were met. <br /> <br />Kathy Schneider asked if he'still intended to take items in trade? Mr. Kerssen <br />replied that he would be taking in items such as used farm equipment, and that <br />he already had a license tolrepair autos, Kerssen also asked if he could have <br />more than three items on display along the road since he felt less than 6 or 7 <br />items would hurt his business. He asked to have both used ~tems pl. us his trailers <br />on display. Ken Peterson explained that perhaps Kerssen should be applying for <br />a urban development permit i!f he plans for such an extensive operation. Kerssen <br />stated that he did not want to get that involved and would be satisfied with a <br />stipulation limiting the number of items on display to 3. Kerssen asked about <br />the sign ordinance, and Clayton Berg read the section of the ordinance that applied, <br />and Kerssen stated that a sign of his would never be as large as the maximum <br />allowed by the ordinance. <br /> <br />Ken Peterson asked for additional input. Public Hearing adjourned 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Please Note: Actual legal notice for hearing stated that hearing was strictly <br />to consider manufacturing and sales of trailers.
