P&Z-2- 12/11/78 Reg. Mtg. Item 2. Home Occupation permit- Case of'Jean Schlueter. A public hearing wa~ held earlier during the evening, and as there appears that there would not be any outside storage of supplies, and no traffic problems with this request, Motion by A1 Sorteberg, seconded by Brad Bodle to recommend to the City Council to grant a home occupation permit to Jean Schlueter, 15011 Juniper Ridge Dr. N.W., to allow the manufacturing and sales of miniature doll house furn- iture and accessories in her home. Subject to reviewal in two years. Motion carried 7-0. Item 3. Off-sale liquor and superette discussion - Case of Keith Cable. Keith Cable was ~resent with a sketch plan of his proposed building for Co, Rd. #57 and Hwy #47. 'There was a brief discussion regarding accesses, and the possiblity of a different building site on the parcel. Mr. Cable stated that he wished he had more difinite information regarding the road proposed for the west property line, and Commission members suggested he contact Mr. Dick Carson on this matter plus the City Engineer. Item. 4 Review of Economic Committees ReCommendations. A1 Sorteberg briefly reviewed the recommendations of the committee, and after further discussion there followed a Motion by Art Dunn, seconded by Ron West to accept the recommendations of the Economic Committee at their meeting of November 28, 1978. However, please note that the Commission is not familiar with the term "Commercial light industrial" Motion carried 7-0. Item 5. Rezonin~ of the Rural Service Area. Ken Peterson explained briefly about the joint meeting held with Council and Metro Council, and asked the other members attending the meeting iT they also understood that the Metro COuncil was not as concerned with sewer and water services to that area as they were with cost of services such as fire, police, transportation. Motion by Ken Peterson, seconded by Gerry Zimmerman to recommend to the City Council to conduct a public hearing on amending the comprehensive plan to allow a change in the lot size requirements for the rural area from 10 acres to 2.5. due to the following findings: 1.) Would allow better control of land subdivision through platting with elim- inating metes and bounds descriptions. 2.) provide better protection for trott brook area. 3.) There would only be a minimal effect on city services already being provided to the area. Motion carried 7-0. Item 6. Expiration of P & Z members term. - Case of Kathy Schneider. Motion by A1 Sorteberg, seconded by Ron West to recommend to the City Council to appoint Kathy Schneider to a four year term. Motion carried 7-0. Ms. Schneider stated that she would be willing to continue taking minutes at this time, however, pointed lout that funds were budgeted to cover only one meeting per month. It was the consensus of the Commission to ask City Staff to arrange for a secretarial fee to be collected when there is a special meeting called for the convenience of a petitioner.
