Councilmember LeTourneau stated it is great to see this level of interest from the residents and <br />the community. <br />Motion by Councilmember LeTourneau, seconded by Councilmember Kuzma, to appoint the <br />citizens interested in the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee as listed in the staff report. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Strommen, Councilmembers LeTourneau, Kuzma, Riley, <br />Shryock, and Williams. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Johns. <br />8. MAYOR, COUNCIL AND STAFF INPUT <br />City Administrator Ulrich announced upcoming meetings and events. <br />There was a successful pet clinic last week. The next pet clinic is Sunday, May 22, as listed on <br />the web site. <br />Spring recycling day is Saturday, May 7 at the Public Works facility. New items taken this year <br />are carpeting and textiles. Information is online on the Ramsey Resident. <br />The old Municipal Center on Nowthen Boulevard will be used for police training. There will be <br />signs that training is in progress. The Fire Department may use the building occasionally. <br />The interchange will be closed Wednesday, April 27 from 9:00 pm to Thursday, April 28 at 6:00 <br />a.m. For final paving on the westbound ramp. <br />Mayor Strommen announced the following events and news <br />The Minnesota Mayors Conference is this upcoming weekend, which she will attend. <br />There was a tragic event last weekend that resulted in the taking of a life of a young woman in <br />our community. Mayor Strommen said she was heartened by how the community rallied around <br />this family. She encouraged the community to continue to rally and say this type of violence will <br />no long occur in our community. A vigil will be held Sunday evening, May 1, at Central Park at <br />8:00 p.m. <br />9.
