Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #16-05-097 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #16-00 DIVISION C <br />ANDRIE STREET AND 164TH LANE RECONSTRUCTION <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Ramsey City Council on July 14th <br />2015, a Feasibility Report was prepared by the City Engineer with reference to proposed <br />improvements to Andrie Street from Alpine Drive to 164th Lane, and to 164th Lane from Andrie <br />Street to Jarvis Street, including the reconstruction of streets and curb and gutter, storm sewer <br />improvements, and other appurtenant work as needed; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Ramsey City Council on January <br />1 lth, 2016, the Feasibility Report was received and preliminarily accepted, pending revisions to <br />include additional information related to an alternate 32 foot wide street design, and a Public <br />Hearing was ordered for January 26th, 2016; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Ramsey City Council on January <br />26th, 2016, the revised Feasibility Report was accepted following a Public Hearing and the City <br />of Ramsey Engineering Department was authorized to prepare plans and specifications based on <br />the alternate 32 foot wide street design; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Ramsey City Council on April 12th <br />2016, the City Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized advertisements for <br />bids for said improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on May 17th, 2016, and the <br />following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and <br />CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID <br />Douglas -Kerr Underground, LLC $1,568,162.65 <br />Midwest Asphalt Corporation $1,661,736.20 <br />North Valley, Inc. $1,754,703.11 <br />Veit & Company, Inc. $1,776,664.87 <br />Park Construction Company $1,930,316.99 <br />Engineer's Estimate $1,989,875.10 <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Douglas -Kerr Underground, LLC of Mora, Minnesota, in the <br />amount of $1,568,162.65 for the total bid for construction of said improvements in accordance <br />with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible <br />bidder and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted; and <br />RESOLUTION #16-05-097 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
