Public Hearing
June 30, 1977
Page Seven

A1 Kempf, 15220 St. Francis Blvd., NW, said the area on either side of Highway 47
north of 153nd up to about 156th never appeared on the earlier maps as being part
of the original planning district , so why now. Mr. Steffen explained that as
we analyzed this, it was questioned if the residential area should go that far
north because of the cost of sewer, so everything was pulled back except for
those parcels Ehown - ~ 1.

Jim Mulroy made reference to a particular area in which there was no commercial,
but saw that it was zoned commercial and was wondering why. .Mr. Steffen explained
that a man came in and wanted~to build a little store there so it was rezoned for
him. The store was never built but the commercial area is still there and has
never been changed.

Er. ~ulroy asked if the term Rural Service Area indicates any thing other than
no sewage. Mr. Oamec said that basically, that is it.

~.~r. Gilbert Menkveld said he Would just like to say that Ramsey has gotten by on
one-acre lots with good results and that he thinks it wo~ld be a mistake to go
to 2-1/2 acre lots.

Tom Ekle asked if you could not separate a lot below an acre size uutil there was
sewer in the UER and UR designations amd Mr. Gamec told him that was correct. He
asked that when this passes you could then start buying up 1/4 acre lots for
homes immediately. Attorney Goodrich said if you can put in sewage for those
homes and that could be a problem.

Mr. Oamec said that if anyone has any comments that they want brought up or feel
they did not say enough tonight, write a letter and bring it to City Hall and we
will take it up again at our meeting on July ll at 7:30.

Adjournment 10:~4 P.M.
