Mr. Patrick Brama <br />January 26, 2016 <br />Page 2 <br />PREPARE BIDDING DOCUMENTS FOR DEMOLITION <br />Hakanson Anderson will prepare bidding documents for the building and parking lot demolition. The <br />project will include demolition and removal of all remaining components of the buildings, demolition <br />of the parking lot, site grading, and restoration. Removal of the foundation damp proofing (contains <br />asbestos) will also be included under this contract as it will be necessary for the Contractor to excavate <br />along the foundation. <br />Our services will include reviewing the available information, preparing plans to define the removal <br />limits, preparing the erosion and sediment control plan, preparing the project specifications, estimating <br />quantities, preparing the bid proposal, and preparing the restoration plan. We will perform limited <br />topographic survey to estimate the amount of fill required to provide an acceptable slope in the locations <br />of the existing buildings. We will determine the storm sewer and other utilities that will be removed <br />under this contract. We will also identify the existing utilities that must be protected during the project, <br />such as the water and sewer mains that dissect the property. <br />BIDDING <br />Hakanson Anderson will assist the City in preparing and submitting the Advertisement for Bids as <br />required by MN statutes. During the bidding period, we will answer Contractor questions as necessary. <br />Hakanson Anderson and City staff will conduct two mandatory pre -bid meetings with interested <br />bidders. The bidders will have the opportunity to tour and inspect the buildings and the site prior to <br />submitting their bid. We will attend and assist the City in conducting the bid opening. After the bid <br />opening, we will prepare a bid tabulation to verify that the bid amounts agree with the estimated <br />quantities and unit prices and prepare a written recommendation for award of the contract. <br />PERMIT APPLICATIONS <br />We will complete the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) as required for the NPDES <br />Construction Permit. The contract will require that the Contractor pay the permit fee and obtain the <br />permit. No other permit applications have been considered in this proposal. <br />MEETINGS <br />We will attend progress meetings with City staff during the preparation of the bidding documents as <br />necessary. We will also attend and assist the City in conducting the pre -construction conference(s). <br />CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES <br />It is anticipated that City staff will perform most of the construction phase services. However, <br />Hakanson Anderson will be available as needed to answer questions during construction, mark removal <br />limits or perform other activities upon request. <br />IMHakanson <br />Anderson <br />
