STORM DRAINAGE IHPROVEHEN7

· he present drainage to ~s ,area is inadequate with the exception of
the portion of Seatty sere.st that drains to the highway ditch.

Therefore, it ~.s proposed to acquire drainage easements between Lots 3
and 4, Block 2.: Itasca He~ghts~ and the property south of Lot 1, Block
1, Itasca Heights, as shovn on Exhibit A. The easement over the
property south of Lot ~ ~]¢~_ck 1, Itasca Heights would provide a legal
drainageway to the river for runoff from the northwestern three-
quarters of Collin~ D~ive and a portion of Beatty Street. Due to the
potential for i.~arge volum.~s 'and velocities, it is proposed to
construct a storm sewer f'..~o~ the west end of Collins Drive to the
point where the grade mee':s the flood plain of the Mississippi River.
Restoration would include sodding any disturbed areas.

The easement between Lots 3 and 4, Block 2 would provide a drainageway
for runoff from approximately the four southeasterly lots to the U.S.
Highway No. 10 & 169 ditcn~ It is proposed to construct a sodded
drainage swale from the northeast end of Collins Drive to the ditch.
This swale would be approximately two feet in depth and would have
four to one side slopes.

ESTIMATED COSTS

The estimated project co~ts presented herein reflect the construction
costs and overhead costs~ Construction costs are estimated contract
amounts for ~e actual c{~nstruction. Easement costs for the project
were also included° Ove~ead costs include, but are not limited to,
engineering, constructio)~ staking and inspection, administrative
service, legal, interest during construction an4 contingency.

3

Overhead
