PROPOSED STREET IMPRO%qDiEt,~ <br /> <br />The present ~t~eets are ina~equate in oross-section for paving as a <br />suburban street. Therefor'e,, major grading will be required prior to <br />making any surface improw;manto <br /> <br />It is proposed to ¢onstru~:t the streets in accordance with the City's <br />Standard Suburban Street /;ection as shown on Exhibit B. This street <br />section consists of a 29 foot wide bituminous surface with 4" <br />bituminous berms on each ~ide to contain drainage. Drainage from this <br />street would be directed to the proposed drainage easements on each <br />end of Collins Drive as ~hown on Exhibit A. To keep the runoff from <br />draining into the driveways on the south side of Collins Drive, it is <br />proposed to lower the st~eet approximately one foot and provide a <br />gutter to contain the wate~~ in the street. <br /> <br />The thickness of materia~,s for the suburban street section would <br />consist of 4 inches of g~avel base and 2" of bituminous. This section <br />is equivalent to a 7~ton design in accordance to the Minnesota <br />Department of TransportaaJ.on specifications. This section has been <br />previously used in the city and other communities. It is estimated <br />that this street sectio~ has a life expectancy of 20 years with minimal <br />maintenance. <br /> <br />Restoration due to strett construction shall include connection to.the <br />street of 'those drivewass that currently extend to the street and <br />replacing the existing ~opsoil over all other disturbed areas. Seed- <br />ing or so~ding these art,~as shall be the homeowner's responsibility. <br /> <br /> <br />
