With all of the Capital <br />hnproveme~t Projects, staff is tr dh?. to capture the cost using real numbers. <br /> <br />Councilmcmhcl El'rig stated he ~.pp~'eciates staff and the Park Commission putting the costs <br />together, and it ,s nice to keep a '. unning total to see on a budget when these are approved. <br /> <br />Councilmembel' Pearson i~clui re~? h(~w the willow damage to,the trail will be addressed. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilitics Supervisor Riverblood explained there are two different elements of damage. The <br />trail is next to a wetland where st ndbar willows are very problematic and have the hydraulic <br />capacity to push through. Herbkide will be used to stop that. The other element is muskrats that <br />burrow through the soil and the t~ ail collapses. Chicken wire will be used to address this before <br />doing the ow:flay. <br /> <br />Motion eroTiCal. The Finance Committee <br />recommended thc City Cetmcil authorize staff to proceed with construction of the observation <br />pier.
