Commissioner Shryock not~d the p!ar~ might change once the missing pictures were received.

Commissioner Shr.7ock stated she d id ~ot particularly like the layout, as it seemed confusing, and
a description of thc trail and higl, lighting of major amenities would be preferable. Pictures
should not includ(: such a detaile, l description of the trail's route. The text should tell the
purpose of thc trail and why thc sii:e was chosen. She indicated it should be kept as simple as
possible.

Chairperson John:; agreed that rte text should discuss regional significance and offered
amenities. It should be "a bit ora s;~lcs; pitch."

Commissioner Shryock added info 'marion should be given regarding the interesting features of
the trail. These changes would mat, e tl~e trail explanations a more user friendly guideline.

Parks and Utilities Supervisor Riw rblood indicated he did not know of any required action that
was needed unless more spa:cities v. ere given regarding Section 3.

Parks and Utilitie:~ Supe~visor Ri~;erblood noted he had all of the aerial photographs if the
Commission wishc~d to review then after the meeting.

Chairperson .Iohns stated some the en~:;ths and cost estimates seemed to be outdated.

Parks and Utilities: Supervisor Riw:rblood agreed there was a need to itemize. After significant
effort, staff h~.d '_t master ~trail t,lan in AutoCAD and could easily make maps for grant
applications, for example.

Comlnissioncr Shtyock st~ggested l i~e r;ection be an addendum, which could be replaced easily as
the informati(m bc(:ame ouidatcd.

Commissioner Olcis suggested info~ marion be included without the cost estimate.

Parks and Utilities Super,:isor Rive:rblood responded it might be valuable to have the cost
estimate included, as Council coul( th~;n understand the cost impact.

Commissionor Shryock stated she l?c:l~, information could be included in the main section with
reference made to a financing secti, m that would be easy to change.

Parks and Utilities Supervisor Riw-rblood responded he thought that was workable; however, the
Commission had suggested it was inconvenient to go back and forth between documents. He
thought it would l~e understood th: llgures were 2004 cost estimates and the numbers could be
changed when needed.

Commission(~r Olds indicated the t:ollar amounts should be left in Section 3, with a notation that
the cost cstima!:es ~vere 2004 prices.

Park and l :ecreation Commission/April 8, 2004
Page 11 of 21
