Parks and Utilities Supervisor Riverblood responded no parking spaces were planned in <br />Riverdalc Park; however, a conside~ ation could be made to share the overflow parking area of the <br />townhome plat on lhe north side of ~,i verdale Drive if affirmed in the Development Agreement. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pontius noted the caiet~lations were based on 195 units. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton respond(d the calculations would coincide with what was actually <br />platted. The cash dedication would reflect the current rates in effect at the time of platting. <br /> <br />Parks and Utililies Supervisor Riw:cbl~od suggested the Commission might wish to recormnend <br />that staff pursue: shared parking thal would serve the townhomes and also Riverdale Park. <br /> <br />Chaiq~erson .Iohns indicated parki~g J0r the ball park was tight and there would not be much <br />available parking ii' used fora game <br /> <br />Commissioner Olds asked if street l~arking was available. <br /> <br />Principal City Imginecr Olso~ resp( n&xl the street xvas wide enough for parking. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson ask.:d if street parking spaces would be available off Riverdale <br />Drive. <br /> <br />Parks and Utilities Supelx, isor Rive bi¢od responded typically parking spaces were identified that <br />were not associated with specific urdts and it would make sense if the spaces could be near <br />Rivcrdalc Park. <br /> <br />Chairperson J ollns asked if designa ed ~;paces needed to be identified. <br /> <br />Parks and Utilities Supervisor Riv :rb/ood responded they could be identified if it would be of <br />mutual benefit to both entities;. <br /> <br />Chairperson .Iohn~; suggested it ,vould be nice to have approximately 20 parking spaces; <br />therefore, if pal'ki~g was allr~wed aiom[ Riverdale, maybe another 10 spaces could be designated <br />in the townhome site. <br /> <br />Motion by Conam;ssioner Shryock seconded by Commissioner Olds, to approve staff's pursuit <br />of the option o [' shared park lng betv~een Riverdale Park and the townhome development. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: (hai q)erson Jotms, Commissioners Shryock, Olds, LaMere, <br />Lehman, and P(mth~s. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Ostrum. <br /> <br />Chaiiperson .Iohus stated she coul-i not think of any additional consideration needed regarding <br />the park and trail dedication.
