Thc ~chool is loccttecl at 7250 E~;t Ramsey Parkway. Eleven temporary trailers, housing 22 <br />classrooms will bc located in the v'ost parking lot. The placement of these structures within the <br />parking lot h~ts bccn approved by tt~e Fire Chief for emergency vehicle access and has been found <br />to Dc acceptable. Charter School, explained the younger kids will be <br />inside thc gy~nmlsium. Ki~dcrgartcn through 4th grade will be inside and grades 5 and 6 will be <br />as close to lhe entrance of th( building as possible. They will also need to make <br />accommodatio~'~s f;,>r special education close to the entrance. The secondary students would be <br />further away t'rom the building. C~mncilmember Elvig's point is well taken, and they are most <br />concerned about Ibc young ones wl~o are not as aware about safety issues. During the day when <br />school starts they are going to block off the drop-off lane completely so there is no traffic <br />between tiao portables and thc build;ng. <br /> <br />Councilmembc~' l~<trson comnmntcd he was at the Platming and Zoning meeting when this was <br />discussed, and tht~y did a thorou;~h job of touching on just about everything. There was <br />discussion rcgardi i~g the stuclcnts th;tt would drive and the number of cars, and where the parking <br />would bo. <br /> <br />Motion by Counci!mcmbcr Coolc, ~;~conded by Councihnember Elvig, to adopt Resolution #04- <br />05-135 adopting I:indings of'/Vact ~0675 relating to a request for an Interim Use Permit to place <br />temporary classroom structures on t~e I'.A.C.T. Charter School site until October 15, 2004. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Cook, Elvig, Kurak, Pearson, <br />Strommcn, and 7~inm~crman. ¥otin?,No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihncmber l'earso~, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adopt Resolution <br />#044)5-136 to app,'eve the Interim Use Permit to place temporary classroom structures on the <br />P.A.C.T.
