The consensus of the <br />Committee was tl~:tt staff monitor thc odor once per week randomly, and that Commercial <br />Asphalt provide tl~c City with a f,roduction schedule. The odor <br />only happens wl~cn thc wind is out of the northwest. If the City is going to randomly monitor the <br />odor he suggests they do il when thc' wind is from the northwest on a humid day. He is sure they <br />smell it next to him in the trailer pa~k, but do not want to lose their place in the park. There was <br />an odor fbur tin~es in 20 days and ht; would like to know if any one of the people on the Council <br />would put up with what he has to pttt up with. The Council is supposed to look out for the <br />safety, health and welfare of the community. He has had health problems for some time and <br />thinks thc Cottl~cil should take a bc,ter look and do something. He read in the backup material <br />that Mike l?o~n Commercial /\sphalt met with the Public Works Committee. He did not even <br />know there was a l~ccting goiug on or l~e would have gone. He stated sometimes the smell is so <br />bad it inllltratcs iulo the lnouso. Hc is positive there are carcinogens in the blacktop and that is <br />not good lbr anyone, l lc already as!ced at the last Council meeting what the Council is going to <br />do about this, and hc still would like to know.
