ORDII~ANCE NO. 87 <br /> <br /> ~ITY OF ~ANSEY <br />ANOVA COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AMENDMENT T@ CHAPTER 110.01 OF THE RAMSEY CITY CODE, WHICH <br />CHAPTER IS ENTItlED "HEALTH, SAFETY and WELFARE". <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REGULATINC THE DISPLAY OF CERTAIN VIDEO CASSETTES TO <br />PERSONS I~DER EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE, BY THE ADDITION OF <br />SECTION 110.19 TO THE CITY CODE WHICH SECTION IS ENTITLED "VIDEO <br />CASSETTE DISTRIBUTION". <br /> <br />SECTION 1. ADDITIO~,~ OF SECTION 110.19 <br /> <br />110.191[ VIDEO C~SSETTE DISTRIBUTION RATING STANDARDS. <br /> <br />Rating ~tandards pror~lgated by the Classification and <br />Rating Adminietration of the Motion Picture Association of <br />America shall be applied to the distribution of movie video <br />cassettes. The retailer shall put the rating system on the <br />video cassette before it is distributed. <br /> <br />110.192 VIDEO C~SMETTE DISPLAY TO PERSONS UNDER A~;E 18. <br /> <br />Video cassette tape~ of movies which have a rating standard <br />of "X~ according to the Classification and Rating <br />Administration of the Motion Picture Association of America <br />shall be maintained by the retailer in a room or area that is <br />separate from other video cassettes tapes and that is not <br />accessible to a person under eighteen (18) years of age. All <br />such separate rooms or areas shall be restricted by <br />~rominently posting at the entrance(s) a notice stating, <br /> ADULTS ONLY -~ YOU /~4UST BE 18 OR OVER TO ENTER." <br /> <br />SECTION 2. PENA~T'Y <br /> <br />Any person vtolatin~ any provision of this ordinance is <br /> <br />guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by <br /> <br />a fine of not more than $750.00 or imprisonment for not more than <br /> <br />ninety (90) days or bot~ <br /> <br />SECTION 3. EFFECTIYE: DATE <br /> <br />This ordinance beco~te~ effective upon its passage and thirty <br /> <br />(30) days after its pubi.~ication according to law, subject to City <br /> <br />Charter Provision, Section 5.04. <br /> <br /> <br />
