Councilmembe r <br />adoption: <br /> <br />introduce{! the following resolution and moved for its <br /> <br />I{ES(~UTION <br /> <br />~ION CALLIN6~ FOR A SAFET~ INVESTIGATION OF RAMSE~ BOULEVARD <br />~0~D NO. 56) <br /> <br /> WI~:RF2~, County l¥3ad !~o. 56 (from the intersection of County State <br />Aid Highway No~ 5 to the intersection of U. S. Highway No. 10) lies entirely <br />within the City of Ramsey)~ and <br /> <br /> Wq~REAS~, several acci.~ents have occurred on County Boad No. 56, some <br />of which are more tragic than o~hers; and <br /> <br /> W~ZRF~%S~ the growth o~ the City of Ramsey has resulted in greater <br />usage of County P~d NOo 56 sD~ce safety standards were last reviewed; and <br /> <br /> W~ERF~ it is the r~sy~)nsibility of the City Council of Ramsey, <br />Minnesota, to protect the healt~b safety, and welfare of its residents. <br /> <br /> 1) '.['hat the City of ~b~sey hereby requests an i~ediate review of <br />the safety characteristics of County Road No~ 56 to consider all possible <br />measures to imprc~e upon the s~fety of County Road No. 56 including, but not <br />limited to, speed restriction~b crosswalks, lighting, signalization, turn <br />lanes, etc. <br /> <br /> 2) Further, that a fositive action on the part of Anoka County be <br />taken to improve (bunty ~Dad No~ 56 in order to protect the health, safety, and <br />welfare of the public. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of ~f~e foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof ~ <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the follow)~g were ~bsent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was d.~clared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council this the 14th day ~f April, 1987. <br /> <br /> <br />
