Review File: The Station
Preliminary Plat Review: Landscaping
March 14, 2016, revised June 24, 2016
• Upon acceptance of landscaping by City, a two (2) year maintenance guarantee is
required to ensure survival of all tree/shrub plantings.
• A separate Sign Permit will be required prior to sign installation of the monument sign.
• A biodegradable material, such as shredded hardwood mulch, would provide a better
growing environment compared to landscape rock for the plantings between driveways.
However, as previously noted, this is a recommendation rather than a required revision.
Tree Preservation: This site is devoid of any significant tree cover and therefore, no tree
preservation plan is necessary.
Natural Resource Inventory (NRI): There were no significant natural resources identified on this
site through the City's NRI that would be worthy of preserving. The cover type was found to be
urban with vegetative cover.
Best Management Practices (BMPs): Storm water volume requirements were accommodated
through a regional system for The COR (and is a focal point now for The Draw and Amphitheater area).
The City is currently exploring a regional solution to address the Lower Rum River Water Management
Organization's (LRRWMO) infiltration requirement. On site, this project is proposing ponding to
address certain storm water management requirements. Two (2) different seed mixes will be utilized
to establish vegetation around the pond, including both xeric and mesic native grasses and
wildflowers. The proposed mixes will provide some seasonal interest in the form of blooms and will
also provide pollinator friendly habitat as well.
