Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #16-06-120 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #16-00 DIVISION A 2016 CRACKSEAL AND SEALCOAT IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey adopted a budget for 2016 that included $500,000 for cracksealing and sealcoating various public streets as part of the City's annual Street Maintenance Program for 2016; and WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the City Council adopted May 24th, 2016, the City Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized advertisements for bids for said improvements; and WHEREAS, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on June 21st, 2016, and the following bids were found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and CONTRACTOR BASE BID ALTERNATE BID (granite rock) (trap rock) Pearson Bros., Inc. $260,521.76 $260,521.76 Allied Blacktop Company $268,472.05 $0 Asphalt Surface Technologies Corp. $289,480.05 $299,960.31 Engineer 's Estimate $345, 637.32 $345, 637.32 WHEREAS, the bid of Pearson Bros., Inc. of Hanover, Minnesota, in the amount of $260,521.76 for the base or the alternate bid for construction of said improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with said bidder for the construction of said improvements based on the alternate bid using trap rock for and on behalf of the City of Ramsey. 2) The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids at such time that a contract has been executed.
