In particular, the region\u housing issues <br />require collaboration because 0fthe many partners inhousing, ranging <br />from residents to developers to cities tofundero. Even when one entity is <br />the primary funder0r investor in 8 housing project, success requires the <br />coordinated collaboration of range of public and private entities to realize <br />the full benefit to the region. No single entity has the capacity or the authority <br />to dothis work alone. Collaboration is essential. <br />Provide regional perspective on hQUSiDg policy <br />The Council iowell positioned to providearegional perspective onthe <br />housing needs, opportunities, and challenges in the metropolitan area. While <br />local governments address housing based primarily onthe needs oftheir <br />residents, the opportunities and impacts of housing development do not stop <br />at city boundaries. The Council can articulate a regional perspective beyond <br />local borders and provide financial resources and technical assistance to <br />local governments. <br />The Council also looks broadly at the region to identify common challenges <br />and opportunities for impact.
