S0C)C)Qyƒ efforts to e|-DO'D8ƒ�- hQDOe|eSSDeSS <br />Homelessness continues to be a challenge in our communities even as multiple <br />collaborations and alliances continue to make remarkable progress toward its eradication. <br />Among the noteworthy collaborative efforts currently underway are: <br />p The Minnesota Interagency Council on Honne|eaeneee, o collaboration of 11 agencies <br />including the Minnesota Department of Human Services and Minnesota Housing, which <br />in2013adopted Heading Home: Minnesota's Plan &JPrevent and End Homelessness, <br />with goals to end homelessness for Veterans and persons with disabilities by 2015 and to <br />prevent and end honne|Haaneaa for families with children and unaccompanied youths <br />by2020. <br />• The Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless, a network of 150 homeless service providers <br />and other concerned groups that generate policies, community support and local <br />resources for housing and services toend homelessness inMinnesota. <br />p Heading Home Hennepin, the City of Minneapolis and Hennepin County have 10-year <br />plans toend homelessness by2010. <br />While the Housing Policy Plan does not address homelessness directly, it aims to prevent <br />honne|Haaneaa by creating housing options that give all people viable choices for safe, stable <br />and affordable homes. <br />Council role <br />p Consider projects thGtpr0vdH8ff0rd8b|Hunitef0rindkidu8|eGDdf8nni|iHaHxpHhHnCinQ <br />homelessness for funding through the Livable Communities Act. <br />p Work with Minnesota Housing and other state partners to stay abreast 0fthe work of the <br />Minnesota Interagency Council on Homelessness and determine how the Council and its <br />local partners can contribute to implementation. <br />HOUSING POLICY PLAN <br />FOUR: Opportunities for Collaboration <br />
