Added Discussion Items: <br /> <br />Auto Mutual Aid <br /> <br />Fire Chief Kapler introduced a concept of auto-mutual aid. This system would automatically <br />alert multiple cities for mutual aid for confin~ned structure fires weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 <br />p.m. Interested cities are Ramsey, Andover, Oak Grove, and Ham Lake. ChiefKapler explained <br />the anti-aid dispatch matrix and how the policy would work. <br /> <br />Council directed staff to bring back a resolution at the next meeting to adopt this policy. <br /> <br />Councihnember Zimmerman inquired about the additional well for Town Center to respond to <br />water needs during the summer months. <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Olson explained that the new well will be in place by late <br />August. <br /> <br />Chief Kapler also stated that we wilI have stricter sprinkler restrictions this summer that should <br />help with water resources. <br /> <br />Distribntion of Emergency Management Manuals <br /> <br />Police Chief Way handed out the Emergency Management Manuals to the City Council. <br /> <br />Trnnk Sewer Project <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Olson discussed with Council the opportunity to remove two <br />lift stations with the connection of sewer pipes between Alpine Acres and Wildlife Sanctuary 3rd <br />Addition to complete the connection with a gravity system. <br /> <br />Council directed staff to begin discussion with property owners to make the sewer connection. <br /> <br />Highway #47 Accident - Monday, May 17, 2004 <br /> <br />Police Chief Way provided information regarding the accident that occurred at 142nd and T.H. <br />#47 last evening, May 17. <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Olson provided information regarding past traffic studies. <br />The most recent analysis was done in 2001. In 2003, the median on Bunker Lake Boulevard was <br />closed to cut down on cut-through traffic. He offered that the City could request another study to <br />sec if we meet warrants for a traffic light or other possible solutions on that intersection. The <br />past State opinions have been that the intersection at 142~d be closed. Council directed that staff <br />begin to work with the State to explore options for that intersection. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig suggested that staff pursue a connection behind the mall to connect to <br />Xkimo Street. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session - May 18, 2004 <br /> Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
