P&Z -1- <br />$/7/75 <br /> <br />PlanninG & Zoning <br /> City of Ramsey <br />County of Anoka <br />State of Minnesota <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsay City Planning & Zoning Commission was <br />held on August 7, 1978 at Ramsay City Hal!~ 15153 Nowthen Boulevard. <br />Meeting was called to order by Chairman Ken Paterson at 7:30 p,m. with <br />the fo].] owing i~. attendance: <br /> <br />Kenneth Paterson <br />A1 Sorteberg <br />Kathy Schne~der <br /> <br />Gerald Zim~erman <br />Arthur Dunn <br />Ponald West <br /> <br />Also present: <br />Clayton Berg, Bldg. Off. <br />Lloyd Schnelle, Adm. <br /> <br />Item ~.. Public Hearin~ - Philli.~ Kerssen. <br /> <br />Chairman Ken Paterson called the Public Hearing at 7:35 by explaining <br />the re.?son for a he,ring and asking Mr. Kerssen to briefly explain his <br />request. Mr. Kerssen stated that he vdshed to build and sell t'railers <br />on his property at 14765 Nowthen Blvd, and that he would be taking items <br />such ~s tractors, used cars, act. in trade. As there was no one present <br />with any comments, the Public Hearing closed at 7:40 ~.m. <br /> <br />Chair;can Ken Paterson called the regular meeting back to order and ex- <br />p!ained that he and Clayton Berg had driven through the property, and <br />th. st t.here were, some specific conditions to consider. <br /> <br /> · ,~rou!o: be ~rofitable for th~ City to <br />}'.(rKerssen stated that he felt it <br /> ~' parcel. Mr. Kerssen asked if he dld obtain just a <br />condd~tional use permit, could he still rezone at some later time? <br />Art Dunn and Clayton Berg explained that in the event the property was. <br />rezoned, Mr. Kerssen could obtain a permit to both manufacture and sell~ <br />and that the conditional use pe_mm~ was a temporary step and would not <br />~nterfer? w~tb any attervf to rezone. Ken Paterson su~cgested that if <br />Mr. Kerssen wanted to rezone, that he plat the entire parcel shoring the <br />U~[B ~ortion and any P-1 if desired· <br /> <br />Pon ';/eat asked to see the mictures }.'fr. Kerssen had of the trailers, and <br />Art Dunn asked how many trailers were bu ~ t per week. Mr Kerssen ex- <br />pla~.n~-w~ that ho is ~r~s~nt~v. ~ ~. .~ working, on the~~.._ in Coon Rapids and usually <br />builds two trailers per week~ but hopes to have at least 6 in stock; but <br />presently is behind on orders. <br /> <br />Ken Paterson explained the need to establish mutual conditions, and <br />exnlaina, d that he was concerned with the type of items that may be taken in <br />trade. Gerry Zi~omerman cuestJ, oned the number of _~tems that would be on <br />display,, and Mr. Ke'rssen e~:.ptain~d~the .area <br />in trade. Mr. Kerssen stated that he would be leveling an area behind <br />his barn for storage. Ran West ex~lai, hed that he felt a need to limit <br />the number of amy item. Art Dunn stated that he would be comfortable <br />with no more than 10 items with trade-ins stored behind barn. After <br />discussion, Art Dunn said that if the items were adequately screened, <br />there would be no need to limit the number. <br /> <br /> <br />
