Chairman Peterson read the "Purpose" (l?O.016A): <br /> <br />"Conditional use permits are designed to meet the problem which arises <br />where certain uses, although generally compatible with the basis use <br />classification of a particular zone, should not be permitted to be <br />located as a matter of right in every area included within the zone <br />because of hazards inherent in the use itself or special problems <br />which its proposed location may present." <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson asked if the commission could get a copy of the Conditional <br />Use Standards and Criteria prior to the meeting in the futture so the <br />members would have time to go over them ahead of time. <br /> <br />City Administrator Schnelle said he would see that this is done. He <br />said that city staff can't do a findings of fact for this, however. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson informed Ms. Cornelius that this item would be on the <br />council agenda on the £8th of October, 1980. <br /> <br />Ms. Cornelius asked if she could get other neighbors to write a letter <br />in favor of her business. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson told Ms. Cornelius that it would be to her benefit to <br />do so. <br /> <br />Conditional Use Permit to Sell Shrubs and Trees; Case of StanleM Morton <br /> <br />Art Dunn asked Mr. Morton if he would be constructing any additional buildings. <br /> <br />Mr. Morton said he would not be constructing any additional buildings. <br /> <br />Art Dunn asked Mr. Morton if people would have to dig their own and he <br />asked where they would be stored. <br /> <br />Mr. Morton said they would be stored on the north side of his property <br />back away from the highway 75 to 100 feet. He said he would be digging <br />some and the people would be digging some. <br /> <br />Ben Deemer suggested limiting it to one access and limiting his business <br />to selling his own trees and shrubs and not having trees and sb_rubs <br />brought in from the outside. <br /> <br />The commission went over the "Standards for Consideration" (170.016D). <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />The nature of the land upon which the use is to be located; - It is a <br />residential with a lot of open space.
