P & Z -1- <br />5/5/80 <br /> <br />PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br /> <br /> City of Ramsey <br /> Anoka County <br />State of Minnesota <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsey Planning & Zoning Commission was <br />held on May 5, 1980, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen <br />Blvd., N.W., Ramsey Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Chairman Ken Peterson called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. with <br />the following in attendance: <br /> <br />Ken Peterson, Chairman <br />Ben Deemer <br />Gerry Zimmerman <br />Art Dunn <br /> <br />Harry Ellis <br />Kathy Schneider <br />Ron West <br /> <br />Also Present: <br />Clayton Berg, Bldg. Official <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />April 7, 1980, Public Hearing for Dr. Brunell. Motion by <br />Kathy Schneider, seconded by Gerry zimmerman to approve the <br />minutes as read. Motion carried 6-0. Ellis abstained. <br /> <br />April 7, 1980, Regular P&Z Commission Meeting. Motion by. Ben Deemer, <br />seconded by Kathy Schneider to approve the minutes as read. <br />Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />April 28, 1980, Public Hearing for Comprehensive Plan. Motion by <br />Ben Deemer, seconded by Harry Ellis to approve the minutes with <br />the correction on page 3 of Councilman Arnie Cox's name, which <br />is typed Arnie Cos. Motion carried 5-0. Schneider and West abstained. <br /> <br />NOTE BOARDS AND COUNCIL <br /> <br />Councilman Ben Deemer con~nented on the Council Minutes of April 8, <br />1980, page 7, "Street Type", regarding the development of street <br />section outside the commercial area. He said that he would like <br />to reaffirm the P&Z Commission's stand that it wants to see and <br />approve the grading plans of the street section. <br /> <br />PLANNING COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Discussion of Mining Ordinance <br /> <br />Kathy Schneider said that Lloyd Schnelle had been over to the pit <br />on Sunfish and she asked how that matter and other mining in the <br />city are being handled. Clayton Berg said that the city handles <br />these issues when it receives neighborhood complaints. He said <br />Lloyd Schnelle is Zoning Administrator and it is up to Lloyd to <br />say whether the mining ordinance should be enforced or not. Also, <br />he said, there is not enough personnel for handling strict enforcement. <br /> <br />Lloyd Schnelle, City Administrator, entered the meeting. <br /> <br />P & Z Regular Meeting Page 1 5/5/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
