It was consensus that an agreement would have to be worked out between the <br />two Cities. <br /> <br />Art Dunn stated that it doesn't appear reasonable or practical to take <br />any access along highway t0 in view of the topograpb~y. <br /> <br />Ben Deemer stated that he finds no objection to the concept but wants to <br />defer any action on this plat until the Critical Area Plan is resolved and <br />approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Koshak said that Elk River indicated that the plat should be developed <br />consistent with Ramsey's site plan design approval plan so that the entire <br />area would have the same quality of standards in the businesses and homes. <br />He said 'they are in agreement with this idea. <br /> <br />Art Dunn con~aented that Elk River is out of the Metro area and they can <br />have two acre lot sizes with no problem and Ramsey is expected to maintain <br />a five acre minimum lot size, this is inconsistency, it is Like someone <br />drew an imaginary line on the map. <br /> <br />Consensus on this plat is that the developer could proceed with the preliminary <br />and 'that the concept is acceptable. <br /> <br />NEW APPLICANTS FOR THE PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION VACANCY <br /> <br />The Commission discussed the applicants that were interviewed this evening. <br />They said that they have received applications from very qualified persons. <br />A discussion was held on the applicants and their qualifications. <br /> <br />It was decided to recommend Harry Ellis to fill the. Planning & Zoning <br />Commission vacancy and to send a letter to Mr. LaDue that he will be kept <br />in mind for other vacancies and that it has been a very difficult decision <br />on who to recommend to fill the vacancy since he has splendid qualifications <br />and also could be a benefit to the Commissio~ and, also mention that the <br />Park and Recreation Commission has a vacancy to see if he would be interested <br />in applying. Mr. DeMaio is also to receive a letter thanking him for applYing and his <br />interest in the position. <br /> <br />LAND USE MAP FROM DEXTER M~RSTON <br /> <br />Mr. Martin appeared in concern about his land which is situated south of <br />Hfghway 10 and north of the Husby Park property. He said that Dgxter is <br />downzoning the property and he does not want to give up his present zoning <br />in case he would get someone who would want to develop a business that <br />would need more depth. <br /> <br />The P & Z members stated that it is their intention not to have any industrial <br />land south of the highway. <br /> <br />Mr. Martin said he would not mind if it were,changed to business, but did not <br />want to see that much of his land in residential. <br /> <br /> P&Z <br />February 4, 1980 Page 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
