Patrick Ka~nne dy
7231 151st Ave ~
Ramsey, MN 55303

August 29, 1987

Ramsey Municipal Center
15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW
Ramsey~ ~{ 55303

Dear Mayor Gary Reimann,
After reading your response to the last Airport meeting in the Anoka Union, August
28~ 1987. Your statement, "I thought the ~eople ~ew what was goi~ on~ were
informed~ and satisfied" is preposterous!

From the onset of this Airport Expansion issue~ i've met with neighborhood residents
who expressed their opposition views, I've written the council letters expressing
my own personal views, I've met with Mr. Don Greenberg, one-on-one to tell him and
to let the Airport Council be aware, that the residents of this area find this
proposal totall~ un-exceptable. I've met and talked with Councilman Arnie Cox,
stating our views and I told him we would t~ke legal action and petition a refer-
endum election if all else failed. Most of all I emphasized that we are mainly
opposed to the Airport Location, ~nd not neccesarily the Airport, although every-
one also wonders why this city needs to get into the Airport business.

The very nature of each Airport Council meeting was the people of Ramsey, Residents
and Business' in the designated Zone, stating: "We do~t want it, in any shape or form",
and the Airport Council and their consults~ts continually tried to cram it down our
throats and put a band-aid on each and every valid objection, as though there is
even a ground here for negotiation.

You furthur state ~'That thing (the ol~u~) was moving along just like it should"
is also preposerous, k~nat Planet were you on? if you honestly didn't ~auow what
was going on, should you be representing the people of this ~'~v~
~ .~ ~nd if you did
in fact k~now how the people feel, than sir are you being very honest?

I am of course, available to discuss the issues with you.

Sincerelly,

P.S. I'm confident with the issue being decided by ~ election, as it should
have been before as much money ~d time were ill spent on this ill-fated
mis-represented end mis-appropriated venture. Th~uk God, and Arnie Cox,
that we are now on the proper course.

Also~ This Landfill business m~ght also be m~ issue for the people to
decide, or does history repeat, and nothing is learned.
