5 Minutes CASE ~3: <br /> <br /> REQUEST FOR PROCLAMATION OF OCTOBER 11, 1987 <br /> AS "DISCOVER RAMSE¥ DAY" AND REQUEST FOR <br /> FUNDS FOR ADVERTISING "DISCOVER RAMSE¥" <br />By: Anne Norris, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Ramsey Economic Development Company is sponsoring "Discover Ramsey" to <br />provide an opportunity for Ramsey residents to become acquainted with <br />businesses and organizations operating within the City. "Discover Ramsey" will <br />be held on Sunday, October 11, 1987 at the Ramsey Elementary School from 11:00 <br />a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; booth space is currently being sold to Ramsey businesses and <br />organizations. Coca-Cola and several Ramsey businesses are sponsoring a <br />portion of the costs for this event. An additional $2,000 is needed to cover <br />additional costs for advertising for "Discover Ramsey". <br /> <br />At its meeting on September 9, 1987, the Economic Development Commission <br />requested the following from the City C6uncil: <br /> <br />1) <br />2) <br /> <br />Proclaim October 11, 1987 as "Discover Ramsey Day"; and <br />Authorize the expenditure of a maximum of $2,000 to cover advertising <br />costs for "Discover Ramsey"; this money should come from the $50,000 <br />allocated by the City Council in the 1987 budget for economic <br />development activities. <br /> <br />Enclosed for your information is registration information for "Discover <br />Ramsey". <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Proclaim October 11, 1987 as "Discover Ramsey Day". <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Authorize the expenditure of a maximum of $2,000 towards advertising costs <br />for "Discover Pmmsey". <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator <br />Attorney <br />Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br />Economzc Development Company <br /> <br /> Chief of Police <br /> Finance Officer <br /> Public Works Superlntendent <br />X Economic Development Commission <br />.X, <br /> <br /> <br />
