VII. PROG~3{ COSTS AND FUNDi~G The landfill abatement p}an as outlined represents a significant effort on the part el the City To achieve abatement goals. Funding of such programs will be required for a period of years not only to reach but to maintain the desired abatement levels. Fortunately, there are funding sources available. At the County level, the in'~erim funding program based on $1.75 per household will provide Ramsey with a maximum limit of $5,659.50 in 1988. Additional funds will be distributed to communities in the second half of 1988 based on their performance with current or new programs. At the Si. ate /eve], MPCA provides 50/50 cost shzrJng and expertise in assisting with the household hazardous waste collection program. An application for funds which includes the city's commitment to fund its shsre should be submitted to HPCA in early January. The State's Waste Managemen~ Bo~rd similari!y provides matching grant funds through their !ow-loch grant funds.
