Councilman Sortcberg asked if this would be discussed further.
Mayor Reimann explained it would not be discussed further tonight
but would be on a future agenda. Councilman Sorteberg felt it
was somewhat backwards to set the levy limit now and di~:cuss the
budget later. Councilman Co>[ agreed and stated the Council would
have to use their best abiliti_es to use the revenue available
wisely for the entire community.

Mayor Reimann stated the Council's hands are tied and they have
to handle it this way or the City will lose money.

Motion carried. Voting yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Cox,
DeLuca, Pearson and Sorteberg. voting no: None. Absent: None.

Case #3:

Confirm Priority Ranking for Solid Waste Abatement
Activities

Administrator Hart!e}~ explained the Landfill Committee has put
together some priorities for solid waste abatement that
Councilman DeLuca needs to submit to the County task force. The
task force will be compiling information from all the cities.

Councilman Cox pointed out that some of the items are closely
related to others on the list.

Councilman DeLuca felt the top five listed should be the biggest
focus. He felt the first priority should be public education on
recycling, composcing, etc. Priority Two should be education on
programs in operation within Anoka County already.

Administrator Hartley asked the Council to confirm how they felt
about these priorities so Councilman DeLuca knows where
Coun~ ~and= cn solid "aste~ in c~=~a!

Csu..~wilman Cox sugges-_ef~ chat an=,~ recyc!in_~, i-rog-=~, i..~iame.ned~
=~.ou!d be done .... ~'~ ~- ' '~ - a~
~o .... ~ wide sinre ocher _so brin~
wasue into the = · La-~fii!.

_ ~.~ es that Dy ~ 99~
-here ..mus~ be a reiuz~i~n cf ~ae w~s~e stream

sensus uf rhe ~ .......
