2015 FINANCIAL GROWTH <br /> As a publicly funded 501c3 nonprofit organization,the ACHS maintains responsibility <br /> of creating sustainable revenue streams to augment the contribution received for <br /> operating funds from Anoka County.This has traditionally come from memberships, <br /> private and corporate donations,sponsorships,events,grants,and the sale of <br /> promotional materials.In 2015,the ACHS saw an increase in support across all of <br /> these avenues: <br /> Annual Fundraising Event <br /> Although a special fall event is held each year,a recognition <br /> dinner occurs only once every three to five years.ACHS chose <br /> to honor Natalie Haas Steffen,one of the first female County <br /> Commissioners,with words kindly spoken by guests Former <br /> Governor Arne Carlson,Minnesota Sports Facility Authority <br /> CEO Ted Mondale,former Metropolitan Council Chair Peter <br /> Bell,Pastor David Lechelt and Achieve Services Director,Tom <br /> Weaver.This event raised a record$18,942 in profit to the <br /> History Center thanks to the generous donations of time,talents <br /> and treasure from the 220 people who participated. <br /> Everything we knew about her was one of being able to <br /> work well with people, able to achieve defined goals and <br /> -� objectives, and a creative mind. That fit very well. <br /> Natalie's personally was a delight. That's one thing that <br /> I remember was her personality was extremely pleasing. <br /> Former Governor,Arne Carlson <br /> Booklet Sales <br /> Booklets discussing topics such as the Civil War and the Woodbury House raised over <br /> $3,000 in 2015.This led ACHS staff to plan for the addition of several more booklets <br /> in the future,beginning with the debut of Anoka Halloween Collectibles.
