Community Development Assistant, Zoning/Recycling Coordinator, Environmental Coordinator, and <br /> Associate Planner. The Environmental Policy Board (EPB) continues to look for ways to provide support <br /> to the community in the protection of natural resources. In addition, a key goal for the community is to <br /> address water supply issues. Given his background, Mr. Anderson can play a key role from a land use <br /> planning perspective, especially during the Comprehensive Plan Update. <br /> • Primary Staff Liaison to the Environmental Policy Board <br /> • Staff support to the Planning Commission <br /> • Occasional Presentation to City Council <br /> • Coordinates the City's Recycling Program <br /> o Curbside Pickup Contract with ACE Solid Waste <br /> o Annual Fall and Spring Recycling Events <br /> Consulting Planner. Due to seasonal and annual variations in workload patterns, the City elects not to <br /> employ an additional City Planner.The City has contracted with a consulting planner since 2011 to aide <br /> the Community Development Director and City Planner as workload demands require. The City currently <br /> contracts with WSB &Associates for consulting planner services. <br /> • Land Use Applications <br /> • Code Enforcement <br /> • Policy Analysis <br /> BUILDING DIVISION (DEVELOPMENT) <br /> Building Official.The Building Official's primary role is to administer the State Building Code within the <br /> jurisdiction. The Building Official provides some work direction to the Building Inspection Technician and <br /> the Permit Technician Assistant, but does not have any formal supervisory role to either employee. The <br /> current Building Official is Rick Jarson. Mr. Jarson has taken courses in Building Inspection Technology <br /> (BIT)from North Hennepin Community College and holds certifications from the International Code <br /> Council (ICC) and State of Minnesota. <br /> • Plan Review 1111111111111111k 1% <br /> • Building Code Inspections <br /> • Maintenance of Existing Structures <br /> • Septic System Compliance <br /> • Code Enforcement <br /> Building Inspection Technician. The Building Inspection Technician serves as the City's primary Permit <br /> Technician responsible for the administration of Building Permits. The current Building Inspection <br /> Technician is Katy Hauan. Ms. Hauan's title was recently reclassified to acknowledge her certification as <br /> a Limited Building Inspector and career aspirations to enter the inspection field. Ms. Hauan job shadows <br /> the Building Official and provides occasional entry-level inspections.
