CC Regular Session 7. 1. <br /> Meeting Date: 08/08/2016 <br /> By: Jo Thieling,Administrative Services <br /> Information <br /> Title <br /> Approve Work Plan and Proposal for Professional Services Contract Extension with The Tinklenberg Group for <br /> Ramsey US Trunk Highway 10 Improvement Development Plan <br /> Purpose/Background: <br /> Purpose: To approve an extension to the contract with Elwyn Tinklenberg,The Tinklenberg Group, to continue the <br /> work on the Highway 10 Improvement Development Plan. <br /> Background: In January, 2016,the City Council approved extending the contract with Elwyn Tinklenberg of The <br /> Tinklenberg Group for a period of six months-January through June at the rate of$5,400 per month, or a total of <br /> $32,400. <br /> Mr. Tinklenberg has submitted a proposed extension to the contract intended to capitalize on the work begun under <br /> the January 2016 phase of the City's US Trunk Highway 10 Improvement Development Plan and implement the <br /> strategies adopted in that plan. The term is proposed for six months from August 2016 through January 2017. The <br /> rate for the month of August will be $4,500 due to the effort required to prepare for and work an anticipated special <br /> session. If no special legislative session is held,this amount will be reduced to the $2,500 monthly rate.The rate for <br /> the remaining five months will be$2,500 per month for a total of$17,000 for this six-month period. Mr. <br /> Tinklenberg's detailed Development Plan is attached to this case. <br /> Observations/Alternatives: <br /> While this year has yet to produce a funding allocation on either a state or federal level, staff believes that the <br /> Tinklenberg contract continues to provide value in building relationships and advancing our priority Highway 10 <br /> projects forward.
