Merle Mevissen indicated that they are short of help and do not have the time to do the marking, dill indicated they could have someone set it up the first time. Chairman Lichter requested Anne Norris to write a letter to David Hartle~7 to request the City hire someone part-tinae to do the marking. The fields would need to be painted once per week unless it rains. If the City does not wish to hire someone then RYAA may have to do the marking themselves. Ms. Prall requested someone to be in charge of turning the lights on and off at the park. Merle Mevissen said there is a timer on them and is set for them to be turned off at lO:O0 p.m. Commissioner Shurnway asked if they could have one of the neighbors be aware of the on/off switch in the event the lights come back on. George %Jiltermuth, RYAA, asked the Comnaission for an all-purpose building. Although the Lions are building a shelter now, RYAA needs storage space. If Rarnsey has its own Fire Depart.*ment there will be no room at City Hall for the RYAA equipnaent and there is no roona for storage at the City Maintainance garage. The shelter the Lions are providing may be expanded to include the ?sell and also storage space. Motion by Cornrnissioner Shumway to request the City hire a full time person for sunanaer help for city rnaintainance and rnarkin¢ the fields, under I~1erle Ivtevissen's supervision; seconded by Commissioner Hetland. Further discussion , Chairman Lichter noted the City Council may reject this; Comnaissioner Shurnway indicated . the city maintainance departnaent does not have the tirne to do the fields. Motion carried. CASE 2: Discussion re~ardinK trails. Commisisoner Shurnway had no additional inforn~ation for the Cornrnission. Comrnissioner Hetland asked about DNR funding. Conamissioner Shui~way said DNR funding is available for nuultiple use trails, and he would contact Joe Alexander to obtain more information, including rnultiple use for snowmobile, Cross Country Ski, horse and $ ¥;heeler. Easements will also be checked on. CASE 5- Update on park/recreation/co~¥~munitv education survev. Anne Norris handed out the results of the survey taken. There :~'ere 57 responses out of 5, 000 hornes in Rarnsey and she asked if the Com~r, ission wanted her to do a random san-,pling. Publishing results of the survey was discussed. Commissioner ShunaYray said to use the survey as a guide and not to spend money on nuailing.
