Chairman Lichter noted results indicated inadequate facilities ~hich <br />are more costly to il¥,prove. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shumway asked Anne Norris who contacts owners for <br />easements. The City Administrator and City Attorney take care of <br />this, first approaching the City Council and then approaching, the <br />property owners. Some owners may want a lot of i~noney for the <br />easement. Some easements are in the Conaprehensive Park Plan for <br />hiking., biking and cross country skiing, 150 feet on each side of <br />brook. <br /> <br />I'.dotion by Comrnisisoner Shunaway that the Park Board would like to <br />pursue the trail system along Trott Brook, -~ith guidance fron-~ the <br />City Council on how to acquire land or obtain easements along the <br />brook for multiple use trail, and checking with DNR for funding~ as <br />this is in the ~977 Comprehensive Plan. Amended by Commissioner <br />Lichter to include Ford Brook, seconded by Con, missioner Hetland. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />CASE 4: Discussion re~',ardin~ expansion of wanr~in~ house and <br />hockev/skatinff, rink facilities. <br /> <br />There i~ .~:125,000 in park development funds and Chairman Lichter <br />said some should be spent. Commissioner Hetland suggested they <br />develop a progranu, and put money into buildings and hockey rink <br />at Central Park, and leave the pleasure rink at Ran-~sey School. <br />Organic. ed hockey could be at Central Park leavin~ one hockey rink <br />and open skating, at the school. One rink could be rnoved to Central <br />Park and another rink built, but lights %vould be needed. Requested <br />Anne Norris to get costs of warming, house and an estinaate for <br />tennis courts, and phase 2 of parking, lots; Commissioner Hetland <br />asked about a multiple use building instead of several buildings. <br />Anne Norris will contact Chairrnan Lichter '~.rith estinaates. <br /> <br />CASE 5: Discussion re.~ardin~ easements. <br /> <br />Previously discussed. <br /> <br />CASE 6: Revie'~ proposed subdivision for park dedication <br />requirements; case of Mr. John Goeb. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hetland to recommend that the City Council <br />require land along. Trott brook to satisfy the City's park dedication <br />requirements, seconded by Comrnissioner Shuna%.'ay.
