CASE 7~ Discussion re.~ardinK 1987 application for 1988 LAt~CON/LCMR <br />funds. <br /> <br />Commission requested Anne Norris to turn in application for LA%~;CON <br />grant for Rivers Bend Park the same as last year. Anne Norris <br />~'ould like letters of support from civic organizations showing <br />commitment of hours, donated time. It will need to be submitted <br />by bqonday, May 4. 5qotion by CornI~issioner Hetland, seconded by <br />Commission Rustad, to approach the City Council to ar. ply for <br />LA¥./CON grant again. Motion carried. <br /> <br />CA.~E 8: Discussion on IvIarch 12, 1987 .joint Citv Council/Park and <br />Recreation Cornrnission meetinK. <br /> <br />Chairman Lichter indicated if they do not get LAxN'corg funding this <br />year they will have to do something. I~qerle Aqevissen indicated the <br />Lions may do more at Central Park. The JC's have poles and lights <br />sitting at the maintainance garage for tennis courts at Titterud, this <br />¥;as not finished. One rink to be moved has lights so they will need <br />lights for another rink. Chairman Lichter suggested putting <br />rinks and lights at Central Park and a warnaing house and leaving <br />Ranasey School rinks alone. <br /> <br />CASE 9: Update on revie-~ of Cornprehensive Park Plan. <br /> <br />Chairman Lichter said the issue was discussed ~ith the City Council, <br />the survey ~.vas done, and they are working on trails. Claudia Dodge <br />requested the conarnitte to meet again to discuss each park. They <br />wilt meet April 50 at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />CASE 10: <br /> <br />Claudia Dodge presented the ne,^~ playground plan at Rarnsey School. <br />The school has raised $10,000 and the cost will be $56,000. The <br />~chool is requesting 810,000 from the park board, $7,000 in cash and <br />$5,0O0 in labor to put it together. The present equipment is old and <br />dangerous. She asked for a recon~¥~endation of the park board. <br />IVterte IVIevissen indicated the iterns are difficult to assen-~ble. <br />Commissioner Hetland said it would cost i/5 to 1/2 of the cost for <br />labor. Chariman Lichter wants a detailed estirnate on labor and <br />r~Ierle Mevissen ~ill check on this. This '~viI1 be discussed on April 50 <br />; Paul Reifenberger vrould like to bring this to the City Council as <br />soon as possible. IvIotion by Comrrhssioner Hetland to recomrnend the <br />$10,000 donation but reserve the breakdown between labor and <br />n~aterials; seconded by Comn%issioner R_ustad.
