Councilmember Cbx noted that any final agreement entered into would address <br />these areas of concern in more <br /> <br />Councilmember Sorteberg inquired as to the impact of the landfill expansion <br />on the proposed airport Ixoject. <br /> <br />co~cilmember Cox stated that bird activity and site height are concerns. <br />With the site settlement that would occur, the final hill height would not <br />exceed airport height limits. <br /> <br />Mr. ~artley noted that the period of time in which Federal requirements for <br />funding participation must be met is much earlier than when that settlement <br />would occur. <br /> <br />councilmember COx noted that Ramsey will not be in a position t° make a <br />final decision regarding the vertical expansion; the City better have it's <br />concerns addressed and documented in case the expansion is approved. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeImca requested clarification regarding Clean Up Day being <br />subject to Flc~ control regulations mandated by the Cc~nty. <br /> <br />Mr. Otter replied that if there would be a ~x~ate that material collected <br />in Ramsey must be taken to the Elk River facility, then the Ramsey Clean Up <br />Day would have to be voided as allowing citizens use of the P~am~ey site <br />would be violating the law. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that he would very much appreciate Waste Mangement <br />offering a Ramsey Clean Up Day for 1987 similar to what was done in 1986; <br />that it would tie in very nicely with promoting "Keep America Beautiful <br />Week' projects Mr. Terry Miller is working on. <br /> <br />Mr. Otter stated that even without an agreement frcm City Council regarding <br />the proposal presented to them this evening, and unless he hears that <br />Council is totally adimant to proceeding in any direction on the proposal, <br />he is willing to offer a Ramsey Clean Up Day for 1987 and will provide the <br />City written confirmation of that offer. <br /> <br />Motion by counc~r COx and seconded by Councilmmber Pearson to accept <br />Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc. 's offer for a 1987 l~sey Clean Up Day <br />for P~m~ey residents. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes.' Mayor ~eimann, Councilasbers 8orteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: Norm. <br /> <br />In reference to the proposed agreement by Waste Management, Councilmember <br />Sorteberg raised sc~e concerns regarding drainage and/or sedimentation <br /> <br />Mr. Partley responded by saying that specific plans were not available and <br />that detailed information of this type has been requested of Waste <br />Management. <br /> <br />City council/March 3, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
