Absent: Councilmembers Sorteberg and Cox. <br /> <br />~ ~tatus I~port (~MunicipalWell <br /> <br />Mr. Baatikka reported that a screen a~ gravel pack were installed in Well <br />%2 and it is continuing to produce sand. <br /> <br />Mr. ~artley stated that he and Mr. Raattkka have discussed the matter with <br />Mr. B~nner and the consensus is that the City should re,ye the screen and <br />gravel pack and accept the well at whatever rate it will produce sandfree <br />water; that is estimated to be 300- 350 gallons per minute. That procedure <br />would be consistent with p~st recommendations fr(~ Mr. Rennet regarding <br />this City developing shallow, smaller wells rather than that of a larger <br />variety. Shallow wells tend to produce a better quality of water and the <br />low performance rate does not take away from that quality. It is not <br />unc~mon for __c~_ __~_ities to mm shallow wells regularly with water being <br />stored in a t{wer. The ~hange order to remove the screen and gravel pack <br />would be for $6,580.00. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka noted that the screen and gravel pack could be stored at <br />Renner's and any potential b~yers for it would be referred to the City. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilm~mber Pearson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to <br />approve (~ange Order No. 4 in the amount cf $6,580.00 for Municipal Well %2 <br />to remove sand and gravel pack, install air development equipment and <br />install and remove test Ix~p. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Absent: Councilmembers Sorteberg and Cox. <br /> <br />Receive Feasibility Report And Set Date For Hearing On <br />Industrial Area Sewer And Water Improvements: <br /> <br />Mr. Paatikka provided copies cf feasibility report to bring sewer and water <br />improvements to Sunfish Lake Blvd. and Industry Avenue, across B~y. %10 and <br />east and west to Tungsten Street and Schwartzman property. The <br />Improvements are divided into four phases. Mr. Raatikka reported that Mr. <br />Bartley has determined that there is approximately $2,500,000 available; <br />$800,000 is proposed to be used for a water tower and the well currently <br />under construction; that leaves $1,750,000 available for extension of <br />utilities to the Industrial Area. Mr. Raatikka requested that Council <br />determine, based on funds available, which phases should be initiated and <br />that a public hearing date be set. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca stated that Phase 4 should be deleted from the project <br /> City Council/March 10, 1987 <br /> <br /> <br />
