The RamseyCity Council and Ramsey Planning and ZoningCc~mission oonducted a joint meeting on Tuesday, February 17, 1987 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 N~enBlvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Gary Peimann Councilmember Arnie Cox Councilmmmber A1 Pearson Councilmember Steve DeLuca Mr. Ken Peterson, P&Z Chairman Mr. Jim Bowell, Mr. Terry ~ernlriksen, P&Z Mr. Gerald Zi~erman, P&Z Mr. Ben ~--aer, P&Z Also Present: City /ktninistrator David Hartley C~ty Development Director Anne Norris Members Absent: Councilm~er Al Sorteberg Mr. Roy Shu,way, P&Z Mr. (~arles LaDue, P&Z Mayor Reimann called the special joint meeting to order at 8:45 p.m. Mr. Partley stated that Mayor Reimann has pointed out that a 1987 goal is to improve the ability of Council, boards and commissions to work together as a team. Through research he has found out that in order for these groups to work as team they have to understand each others values. ~. ~artley proceeded to have those present fill out questionaires having to do with various government functions and who should be responsible for those functions. The results of the questionaire ~shcwed that there needs to be more discussion regarding who is responsible for what. Mayor Reimann stated that there has been a difference of opinion between Council and P&Z regarding home occupa~o~ but he feels both bodies are now on the right track of trying to limit and discourage business in residential areas. Councilm~nber Cox stated that there will always be differences of opinion but prdll~ns arise when citizens leave P&Z with a positive recommendation and reoeive a different opinion when they reach Council; there has to be c°nsisten~int"' City Council-Planning & Zoning/February 17, 1987
