Ramsey is trying to help it's businesses survive that kind <br />of action and have a highway that is safe. Ramsey has to deal with the <br />.situation sooner or later and if the State oomes in and deals with it, the <br />property owners will wish that the City had organized something workable <br />ahead of time. <br /> <br />Pete Bilben - 6216 Rivlyn - Stated that two parties of a three party issue <br />have been at these meetings -- the city and the property owners. There <br />should be a meeting of the city, property owners and MN DoT. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka stated that MN DoT is limiting accesses onto highways and <br />developing them as close to frc~ay standards as possible; the possibility <br />of getting a traffic signal at Tungsten is very remote. <br /> <br />Angela Coffin - Stated that a major part of the problem is caused by AVTI <br />and Berg Oil traffic. AVTI students travel at high speeds and make illegal <br />U-turns. <br /> <br />Chuck alsdurf - 6320 ~3. ~10 - Irguired as to what DoT has reo0mmended as <br />far as road restrictions on Front Street. Grosslein and Econ get regular <br />deliveries by semi-trucks. Removal of access fro~ }~y. ~10 will also make <br />it impossible for semis to maneuver and make deliveries. The property <br />c~zners are willing to oontinue to do their own plowing or the City plows <br />are welcome to turn around on Econ property. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka replied that Front Street would be a 9 ton road with a width <br />of 44'. Noted that the City would not be removing accesses right now; <br />property owners would have dual access for the time being. <br /> <br />Thelma Graves - Suggested that the cross overs between Sunfish and Thurston <br />be closed. <br /> <br />Ed Hamilton - 6615 Hwy. ~10 - Stated he is opposed to the extension of <br />Front Street because he doesn't want his property split in half. Randy <br />Elofson is also opposed to the improvements. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox inquired as to how the property (~ners will have access <br />to their property if the City doesn't plan for some kind of road in the <br />future. <br /> <br />James Follie - Stated that this issue was brought up because of too many <br />accidents happening; those accidents are happening because there are too <br />many cross-overs on Hwy. ~10. Close the cross-overs and control accidents <br />and the State won't find this area to be a problem. <br /> <br />Mr. ~aatikka stated that he thinks the State is very close to closing the <br />cross-over at J.R.'s. <br /> <br />Roger Dickenson, Sr. - Stated he put in Tungsten and Front Streets; they <br />ended at his property; now they extend to Hamilton's and there is talk that <br />it will extend to the bowling alley <br /> <br />Sp Council/February 10, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 5 of 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
