Overlays came in at $67,588.40 from Bauerly Companies. Both companies have done work in <br />the past and have performed satisfactorily. Staff recommends that the Council adopt the <br />resolutions awarding the bids to the respective low bidders of Pearson Bros. Inc in the amount of <br />$175,020.70 and Bauerly companies in the amount of $67,588.40. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to adopt <br />Resolutions 04-06-146 and 04-06-147 awarding Divisions A and B of the 2004 Street <br />Maintenance Program to the respective low bidders of Pearson Bros. Inc. in the amount of <br />$175,020.70 and Bauerly Companies in the amount of $67,588.40. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked when the project will begin. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson replied there will be a preconstruction conference and the <br />schedule will be put in the weekly update as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Case #9: <br /> <br />Adopt Ordinance (Special Fire Protection Systems) to Include Chapter 1306 <br />to the Minnesota Building Code <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman explained staff is requesting that this case be postponed until the <br />June 22, 2004 Council meeting, as the appropriate staff is not available tonight. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to table the adoption <br />of the ordinance to add Chapter 1306, Subpart 3, New Buildings with Item E, Option 1, in the <br />Minnesota Building Code, to Chapter 8 of Ramsey City Code. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: <br /> <br />Request for Preliminary Plat and Site Plan Review of Rivenwick Village; <br />Case of Turtle Moon Inc. and Ryland Homes <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald explained the City Council approved the preliminary plat and site plan <br />for Rivcnwick Village on April 13, 2004. Subsequent to City Council review of the preliminary <br />plat, the applicant became aware of a situation where the preliminary plat required revising. <br />Many years ago a truck stop and gas station was located along the north of Trunk Highway 10. <br />During extensive environmental testing of the subject property, it was discovered that a small <br />portion of the property contains a plume of gas, which is a direct result from the gasoline tanks <br />leaking across Trunk Highway 10 to the subject property. There are re-mitigation measures that <br />can be taken to address the existing plume to allow for residential or commercial development to <br />occur. I-Iowever, Ryland Homes made the decision not to construct residential units on the <br />property where the plume is located at this time.
