answer that quegtien. <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca stated that proceeding with airport improvement~ i~ <br />contingent not only upon the to:ring but on AI? funds being available. <br />Councilmember DeLuca stated that the people are concerned with safety and <br />zoning is a way to address that concern. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox noted that if this particular zoning plan doesn't pass, <br />then the airport cannot be expanded to fit into tile zoning. <br /> <br />Councilmemler DeLuca ~tated that mahing a decigion on whether or not the <br />airport ~,ill be improved and owned by the city based on whether or not the <br />zoning plan passes is making a decision without all the information; this <br />is why he i~ trying to separate the two issue and bypass a possible <br />referendum on zoning. <br /> <br />Mro Otto stated that by April 1 of 1988 all information gxthered for tI, e <br />environmental impact study, relocation plan and preapplication for funds <br />should be compiled. <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that his understanding of the situation is that Council <br />does want airport zoning in tact in some form and does not intend to have <br />an advisory election on that issue; Council is not certain that the airport <br />should be expanded and become municipally o~'ned because they don't have all <br />tbe information to make that decision.
