The addition to the home
would occur on the riverward side of the structure and the removal of
one mature tree would be required to accomplish the construction. The
work would not increase the structures visibility from the river.

The structures on lots adjoining Mr. Kiecker's property are set at
approximately 85 feet and 120 feet from the river. Mr. Kiecker's
proposal would involve a setback of approximately 100 feet from the
river. Based on averaging the adjoining structure setbacks from the
river, I have no objection to the granting of the variance as
requested.

Additionally, I verified floodplain information in our office and
found that the area is not within the 100-year flood plain of the
Mississippi River and that elevations for the structure are not of
critical concern. Should you have questions, feel free to call.

j~L~incs~~Sincerely,
A~Hydrologist

cc: Mr. Richard Kiecker

L32/lkr

AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
